A Sweetheart of a Pillow
Using hand torn wide strips of wool, ribbon and antique paisley, students will hook high loops on a primitive linen pattern. The loops are then clipped to create a dimensional effect. This project can be finished as a pillow, wall hanging or a table mat. Techniques such as beading and proddy will be taught as a potential finishing technique.
Pattern Dimensions: 12' x 12"
Class kit includes the pattern on 20 x 20" serged linen, a bundle of wool, sari ribbon, and antique wool paisley, and a cut piece of wool for the pillow backing.
If you wish to add drawn initials, a date, a name, or an embellishment such as a lace doily, those can be added during the class.
Supplies to bring: frame or hoop, a hook suitable for large size 8 and above strips, scissors. If you need a hook for large strips, I will have some Hartman hooks available to purchase
Price: $45.00
Date: Saturday, February 4, 2023
Time: 10:00-4:00
Limit:, 12
Registration begins: Jan. 1, 2023

While working as an interior designer, I began taking metal smithing classes, not thinking that it would eventually develop into a career change. I fell in love with metal and began making jewelry instead of designing houses.
Working mainly in sterling silver, I also love the variety of shapes and colors in the stones I buy. You can find my shop on Etsy at CatherineGeyerDesign and my studio on The Hill in St. Louis. Frequently I can be found at shows in the area and I also do custom work.
